I never played OG Doom and skip to play the modern remake / reboot of the game. I can say this is one of good fps game in shooting mechanical which is straight and no bull-shitter fps gimmicks. You are a demon slayer who trapped in Mars Oh no, Demon invade your company, quick sweep them all while you listen questionable character dictate what you should do and go to reveal whats really happened. And that's it. End of story. Playing Doom is ess... Read More

I knew Doom 2016 was good but I didn't know it was THIS good. The developers 100% succeeded in making you feel like an unstoppable demon killing nightmare. The body language of the slayer, the demons ferocity, the horrible gory deaths they can suffer at your hands. It's all incredible. The slayer is weighty but fun to control and the level design you do that on is well done. The combat is pulse pounding and definitely the biggest draw of this gam... Read More

Positive points
Excellent pacing, great combat, and beautiful vistas/locations.
Negative points
Unskippable cutscenes can drag on a bit on second playthroughs.

Fair 70%

Like all things from iD, it's a graphical masterpiece. But it's got a bad mismatch between the in-game lore (which you find on terminals and the like) and the mindless, endless gunplay. Baddies continue to burst from everywhere, their attacks and movement expertly depicted and animated. But in the end... it's DOOM. And we've played DOOM before.

Positive points
Stellar graphics.
Negative points
Stellar graphics can't make up for hollow gameplay.

Storyline

You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.
