Tecmo World Cup '90 is a football (soccer) arcade game released in 1989 by Tecmo. An unofficial bootleg of the game named Euro League featuring European club teams was also released. An unfaithful home version was developed by SIMS for the Sega Mega Drive renamed simply Tecmo World Cup (in Japan, the game was called Tecmo World Cup '92).
The Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (often just PES5) box-art features Chelsea's John Terry and Barcelona's (Arsenal's at the time) Thierry Henry. The game was available for PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game had a much slower pace than its predecessors which surprised and angered many PES fans but was welcomed by others who thought 4 was too fast. However it was the first to introduce the online mode on all consoles. The game was infamous for the referee halting play for very tedious fouls.

FIFA Manager 10 is a managerial simulation in which the player is responsible for the financial and athletic success of his team. The player has influence on many settings, e.g. line-ups, player transfers, training, budgets, merchandising, stadium expansion or sponsors. New is the stadium infrastructure were the player sets the number of toilets, VIP rooms and similar things.
Based on international teams (with fictional player names), their abilities in each skill area rated out of 10 to give the player an overall impression of how good they are. The options available follow the standard set: fouls and offsides can be toggled on and off, the match length can be set, and if the timer operates continuously, or only while the ball is in play. Gameplay privileges quick runs, short passes and blistering shots outside the penalty box, and set pieces are controlled by moving a box into the target area for the ball, and then passed, lobbed or kicked directly. On the tactical side, formations can be selected, with 5 different strategies also available (although not all of these combinations make sense) as can the team Coverage - the areas which defenders, midfielders and strikers cover.

EHIS gameplay included the basic running, kicking, shooting style but also had advanced technique gameplay which added depth and realism to the game. For example; turning naturally involved changing direction of the joystick, but instead of coming to a halt straight away, the player would slow down, stop and start to run in the direction of the joystick.
EHIS advanced techniques included The '5-direction' option. This meant that you could pass and shoot up to 5 different directions from where your player is facing. This was achieved by holding the fire button and pushing the joystick at an angle from where your player is running and releasing the button. Other techniques include sidestepping, barging, heading, back heels, lobs, diving headers, sliding tackles and many other miscellaneous features.
