Good 90%

A unique game about a pict warrior on a vision quest to save her love from hell. The twist is that she has a psychotic mental disorder (likely schizophrenia) and a history of trauma. The game puts you in her shoes, meaning you experience visual and auditory (voices) hallucinations, and are never sure what is a delusion and what is real. The game is very sensitive toward mental illness, they got several psychiatrists on board and consulted with me... Read More

Positive points
Great representation of mental illness
Good visuals
Unique
Cinematic, great story, well paced
Negative points
Combat wasn't hugely interesting
Wasn't optimised fantastically so I had to drop some graphics settings down, however it still looked really good.

Great 100%

This is one of the best games I played. The graphics are incredible and the storytelling is really well constructed and makes you want to understand more and more. You get sucked in what is real and what is fake and it is hard to figure what which one is which. The environment is also great. It makes you doubt your own decisions and also makes you want to see things from different perspectives, even when you don't have to. The combats and puzzles... Read More

Truly incredible game with a very interesting story and impressive visuals. To be completely honest, the story, the main character, the graphics and sound design are basically the only good things about this game. The gameplay itself is quite mediocre. I don't really enjoy those puzzles present in the game and combat is also a bit lacking, but still enjoyable. Overall, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was a great experience.

Alright 80%

A game made by an independent studio that truly lives to the "AAA standards". It may be the best-looking indie game yet, and also one of the deepest, most beautiful game experiences in years. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a game that blends hack & slash combat with puzzle solving and exploration. The main story, partly based on Celtic mythology, focuses on Senua, a female warrior who must travel to Hel (the Nordic land of the dead) to sav... Read More
