Samurai Warriors is the first title in the series of hack and slash video games created by Koei's Omega Force team based loosely around the Sengoku ("Warring States") period of Japanese history and it is a sister series of the Dynasty Warriors series. In the basic gameplay of Samurai Warriors, the player takes the role of a single officer in battle and must fend off hordes of enemy soldiers and defeat the enemy commander. The player has at their disposal a range of combo attacks and crowd-clearing special moves known as Muso attacks. The variety of attacks available increase as the character increases in level and gains new weapons. The game features a total of 15 characters based on historical figures during the Warring States period of Japan.

A returning element from the original Samurai Warriors is the Survival Mode. In this mode, the player chooses a character and fights through an endless castle. The game also contains a Sugoroku mini-game as an additional feature. Up to four players can participate in this mode, and each player has to choose a character. The game's goal is to collect the requested amount of gold (depending on the player's settings).

Without warning, the venomous Serpent King Orochi descended from the heavens. Using his unworldly powers to shatter time and space, Orochi kidnapped the strongest, wisest and most courageous warriors from Ancient China and Feudal Japan in a scheme to test his might against the heroes of these ages. In Warriors Orochi, the characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors must team-up to wage war against this new, yet powerful force.
Warriors Orochi for PSP is the first to boast the massive, seamless battlefields of the console versions -- previous games in the series for handheld platforms had combat taking place on battlefields divided into smaller "cells", but this game allows free roaming for realtime tactics and combat. The game also includes all 79 playable characters, and features 2-player co-op play via wireless (ad-hoc).

Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends is a stand-alone expansion to Dynasty Warriors 3. In both games, you take control of a military general in ancient China, each with their own unique abilities and weapons.
The gameplay is simple: you destroy hoards of differently ranked enemies on an open battlefield. Your objective in most missions is to defeat one or more enemy generals. Each character you choose has a different storyline (this story mode is referred to as "Musou Mode"), with seven battles progressing the story along. Battles get harder as you move along in the story. There is also a free mode, which allows you to play any level that you have unlocked with any general that you have unlocked (you start the game with three generals from three different dynasties).
The difference between Xtreme Legends and the original Dynasty Warriors 3 is that in Xtreme Legends, the Musou Mode only features seven unaligned generals that you couldn't play as in the original. There are also challenge modes in Xtreme Legends not featured in the original. And there is a more advanced bodyguard system allowing you to name them, customize their advancement, and choose from more weapons you unlock as you play through the game.
Tenchu Z (天誅 千乱 Tenchu Senran?) is an action-adventure stealth video game developed by K2 LLC and published by From Software for the Xbox 360 in 2006.

It also features four-player cooperative play through Xbox Live.

Unlike previous titles, where the player chooses a hero and focuses on their story, in Chronicles the player chooses a male (wielding a dai-katana and rifle) or female (wielding dual swords) character which they play as a primary character in every story battle, following their own story and changing around different armies.
