I had been recommended to play Super Castlevania IV as an entry-level ClassicVania, because of it low difficulty. I finished Castlevania: Symphony of the Night several days ago, and I had a blast, and I was hoping this would be a similar experience. Super Castlevania IV is not a bad game, it just strikes me as very average. I don't see much that would distinguish it from other games of the same genre, while with SofN, I absolutely saw that. It was an okay experience, the game has some good enemies, memorable bosses, and nice graphics for the time, but other than that, it does not have much to offer.

Positive points
  • Good enemies and bosses
  • Nice graphics
Negative points
  • Just very plain
  • Clunky controls
