Super Mario 3D Land is the second 3D Super Mario platformer for a handheld device, and the successor to Super Mario Galaxy 2. The game is closely based on side-scrolling Mario games, as it combine elements from both traditional 2D Mario games and modern free-roaming 3D Mario games. It also introduces elements into the series, including power-ups and gameplay mechanics.

Your typical Mario, with a new 3D look a bunch of ideas that you will keep playing for. Beware if you have a 2DS, because for some levels, 3D is essential. Good game if you are a Mario fan, and if you are not, it is a good place to start.

Storyline

A tree that is on Princess Peach's castle grounds is stripped of all its leaves during a heavy storm. The leaves, which turn out to be Super Leaves, are blown across the Mushroom Kingdom, bestowing Tanooki tails on all living things they touch. When Mario and the Toads go to inspect the tree the next day, they discover a letter from Bowser, learning that he has kidnapped Princess Peach once again. Mario sets off in pursuit to find and rescue the princess.
