Notes about games that I played in 2018
Ordering is most recent first
Tooth and Tail (2017)
Bought on Steam, Seems fun so far, only played about an hour. Plan to continue in the new year.
Nov - Dec 2018
Crash is much harder than I remember. I have been playing little bits here and there, nothing serious since I have been playing Red Dead as my main game. Going to continue in the new year.
Got in a humble bundle. Played about an hour, seems very similar to the first. Plan to play more in the new year.
Full Throttle Remastered (2017)
Got in a humble bundle. Started it up played about 2 hours. Really just interested for the nostalgia.
Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018)
Nov 2018 - Dec 2018
Played through the Campaign and many side quests, spent probably 60 hours or so. Was a very very impressive game, great story, great acting. Excellent game.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018)
October - November 2018
This was a good game, but probably would have been better if it had been longer since I played through the last one. I played this one in October / November 2018 but played through Rise of the tomb Raider only back in June. What I found was that while this game was well made and fun, it was a little too similar to the last one so I felt myself just sort of rushing though to finish it up. Still enjoyed it thought and I did finish the campaign.
Forza Horizon 4 (2018)
Sept - Oct 2018
Great racing game, continues the tradition of excellence. Highly recommended to anyone who likes racing. Gavin got this one for his BDay, but we have both played it.
Marvel's Spider-Man (2018)
September - October 2018
Really enjoyed this one. Story was better than I expected. Played through the full campaign and most side stuff. Gavin also really liked this one, he enjoyed exploring and collecting things.
Destiny 2: Forsaken (2018)
September - October 2018
Excellent game, Destiny continues to be a great game. Really solid and tight controls. Played for about a month solid trying out all the new content and playing with Luke before moving on again.
Battle Chasers: Nightwar (2017)
September - October 2018
Never could get into this one. I played for about 10 hours over the course of a month or so. Art was really cool, and combat some some fun mechanics, dungeons were interesting as well. Main problem was that everything was too slow.
Another dud, Arcade racer that I thought Gavin might want to play with me, but he wasn't interested at all and it wasn't fun enough to play much solo. Sent back after only doing 2 or 3 races.
State of Decay 2 (2018)
Survival / Management game. Didn't really know what I was getting here, but was fun for a while. Got repetitive very quickly though so I moved on before even getting to my second settlement.
Octopath Traveler (2018)
July - August 2018
Pretty good JRPG, but got a bit boring. Played through the main campaign for a couple characters, but didn't finish most of them. Combat was interesting and kept it from getting too boring, but the exploration and story were just ok.
June - July 2018
Metroidvania for switch. Was ok, but not great. Was good enough to make it through the ~10 hour campaign.
God of War (2018)
Probably one of the best games I have ever played. Fantastic, really great storytelling and pacing, combat was still fun and challenging. Played through the main campaign and did some side missions.
Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015)
This was a really good single player adventure game. Was not quite as good as the first in the series, but was still good. Played through and beat the campaign.
Kirby Star Allies (2018)
Me and Gavin played this one off and on. We had a good time with it, I think we did end up beating it, but honestly can't remember for sure. Was fun but fairly short.
Dead Cells (2018)
Excellent 2D action game. Really fun to play, bought this in early access in 2017 and played a ton then, but picked it back up in 2018 when it exited early access.
Really good Turn based strategy game for switch. Had a lot of fun with it for about 20 hours, but it started getting too repetitive so I never finished it. Was definitely worth playing though
Far Cry 5 (2018)
Fun game, liked how side quests forced progression on the campaign, ending was weird. Played through campaign and some side missions.
Halo Wars 2 (2017)
Fun game, console RTS. Played through the campaign, but nothing super memorable. Just a solid fun game.
Into the Breach (2018)
Bought on Steam. Excellent game, like Advance Wars but as a puzzle game. Each run is an interesting play through where you have to figure out the best way to beat the monsters.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (2015)
Terrible game, has a gimmicky draw a path for kirby to follow mechanic that we never could get the hang of, so never really got past the first couple of levels.
Excellent game, Played through the campaign, was much longer and more story driven than I expected, but I was ok with that.
Star Wars Battlefront II (2017)
Played through the campaign, it was fun. Playing in the Star wars universe was the best part, the sound effects and iconic stuff, otherwise would probably have been sort of boring.
